Went into the ER with a tooth abscess that starts at my front tooth and ends at my back left molar. I had gone to a doctor on June 4 when it was much smaller and irritation started. When I arrieved I was having an anxiety attack from the swelling and pain. I was dripping in sweat with 99.9 temp and a strong headache. The young man who was the acting physician assistant came in with a very kid back attitude no sense of bed side manor and started going in on me about smoking cigarettes and how if i cared about getting better I'd go home and break them and throw them away. As he went on to sit in a chair and not check my mouth or any concerns I had while I'm balling my eyes out. I made it clear I want no pain meds I just want the pressure to stop and the infection treated. He asks what I am prescribed I said amox 800 mg every twelve hours. Then he says well it's been 5 days keep taking it for the full ten and you will see results. Yet since I began it has only grown worse. Luckily during his 5 min with me my mom was on the phone listening to here the diagnosis since she lives out of state. He said he would give me a packet of numbers to call to go to dentist. When I already had an apt but they won't see me til the infection is cleared. So he says it's my own problem I never kept on my oral hygiene and smoke cigarettes. Which yes t is true it is my body! But aren't you getting paid to get to the root on the problem and fix people?? So he walks out and a nurse walks in hands me packet basically around the door and doesn't say one word nor did I get discharge paperwork. Shocker now I have no names but I am on my way now to get the discharge paperwork and I will be writing about this now until forever. I can't believe how utterly cold And not to mention uncompetent they all were. I truly feel bad for any family who has a real problem they need care and attention for and has to deal with the un humane people I did. I unserstaNd the ER isn't for teeth but it's now been diagnosed strep threat and many scans they are going to do a biospsy of my huge cyst. Thanks to people who love what they do and care. All in all, stay as far away from this location as posible.

If I could rate a 0 star, I would. We spent 2.5 hours WAITING in the reception area. 30 minutes to see an actual MD. Unsatisfactory. You pay immediate care costs, should be treated as such. 5 people, whom we now know, were in the reception area with us, waiting...also very highly disappointed. I could and should have driven to Elgin or Barrington. Or call an ambulance at this rate. Literally allowed us to drip blood out of the head wound, while WE asked for a new bandage. I witnessed 3 idle employees during our stay.

After having a bad experience at the McHenry branch, I was admitted to Woodstock.. here, I had great care.. however, they only have an ER here now, and day surgery.. no admissions anymore.. guess I'll have to see where my doctor sends me now.

Staff is great, short waiting time, very professional and accommodating

Two bad experiences. First one was 2015, I was in the ER for a crisis, nurses talked loudly outside my room about how they're "not surprised a 16 year old girl is having a crisis" perhaps not the best thing to say in the vicinity of a struggling teenager, eh? Second incident was yesterday (April 27th, 2017) I went to the imaging center for an EKG (electrocardiogram), I called ahead of time to make sure I could just walk in to get it with my prescription from the Doctor, they said I could. I walk in, and the two ladies at the desk argued with me, saying I had to call central cardio scheduling for an EKG, and said that my doctor didn't prescribe an EKG, but she prescribed an "electrocardiogram" and for that, I needed to make an appointment. I think at this point in the story, it's apparent that an EKG and electrocardiogram are the same thing. But the "professionals" that require a basic understanding of medical terminology to work their job, didn't know this, pretty pathetic if you ask me. Considering most people with a working brain know they're the same thing. I wish I could say I was kidding, but sadly it's nothing but the truth. I had to call back to central cardio scheduling to alert them of the incident and they handled it professionally and let the two women at imaging know that I could walk in and get my EKG done right there and then, even then they were still stubborn. Unbelievable.
